Chapter 6: Blessing of the mind - MEMORIAL
To those who knew Kemelle, to those who knew Halija, to those who thought they knew the bastard angel Helsing, to those who knew how the life of the world recycled itself; the few people who knew all of these things were the only people who could make sense of what happened that day over one thousand years ago.
It is the selfish ambitions of one person that brought the world of the surface to its lowest, the few who knew the truth were all silenced one way or another; the three who helped Helsing achieve her desires, the three she betrayed, were compensated for their silence with luxury, wealth and a place in the world underground in which to start again, in which she gifted them the opportunity to have what she herself lacked.
It is through the effective destruction of Kemelle that Halija could grow to be as it is today, the abundance of souls created by that day allowed the world underground to facilitate the modern lifestyles that allow for such indulgent and stress free lives. Of course by now, said excess of souls has run dry, but that is of little concern for the people who know souls as nothing more than an abundant source of power - Something to be thrown around as if it has no value. But one day, the world will know, the world will learn the truth; and for those who lived through that day one thousand years ago, they will not learn the truth…
They will remember it.
