Stories

This is a collection of stories created for the Toparo Project that further expand the world and characters beyond what is seen in the games and albums. Click on a story's name to be taken to its page; stories with multiple chapters will instead take you to an index that lists all available chapters. All stories are written and proofread by Impeli unless stated otherwise.

Mysterious Items and Shaky Conclusions

Status: Ongoing

Chapters: 1/?

Year: 2025

Words: 3,414

Deep within the mountains of Halija lies a manor where a rather strange demon lives. As much as he’d wish he could spend all day looking over his trinkets and curios, it seems there’s almost always something to interrupt him - Whether or not it helps him understand his collection better is another thing entirely.

Written for the purpose of being the first multichapter story within the Toparo Project, Mysterious Items and Shaky Conclusions follows Asaph and the people who live in his manor. Set a few decades before the main continuity of the Toparo Project, it goes over events that wouldn’t make for a good game plot as well as giving some characters who otherwise wouldn’t appear some spotlight.

Impeli’s comment: As of writing, I’ve only released the first chapter of this work, but I’m very happy with how it’s turned out so far. The fact that it released exactly one year after TOWaMiW is kind of funny but mostly expected. I hope the rest of the story will turn out how I want it to, some of the characters that show up here’ll be vaguely important later… maybe…

There Once Was a Monster in Wonderland

Status: Complete

Chapters: 1/1

Year: 2024

Words: 1,466

A first hand account from a person who lived in Wonderland during a period where “a monster” had appeared and lived there as well.

Written primarily so that this section of the website wouldn’t be empty once it went public, There Once Was a Monster in Wonderland gives a look at the past of a character who first appears in Toparo ~ the Forgotten Rotting Technology. It provides a good example of why this part of the website even exists as a backstory of this nature is best left vague as to not spoil the fun of speculation; as well as the fact that this type of story wouldn’t make for a good plot within a game.

Impeli’s comment: As the first complete and released work within the Toparo Project it technically marks the debut of the Toparo Project as a whole… oops..? I didn’t really realise until a few hours after I launched the website, but I suppose the 4th of September is a fine enough day for the anniversary. Of course, I *am* the big cheese, so I could say this doesn’t count, but whatever, this is funnier (^^; Oh and about the work itself, eh it’s fine enough I suppose.
