Chapter 1: Liability of the mind - MEMORY

The world underground, a world untouched by Heaven’s light, “Halija”. This place used to have a reputation for being full of nothing but death and misery: if you couldn’t embrace it, you would be consumed by it. Reputations often never tell the full story; even before recent times, Halija was full of life and wonder, people lived lives just as complicated and fulfilling as those on the surface once had. Now there only exist few who would still hold said belief; even so, it is only held by those bitter enough to believe it still true, or those who have simply never been there, unable to see that words from before their time are no longer true.

The world aboveground, a world bathed in Heaven’s light, “Kemelle”. It used to be a beautiful land, even more so than Halija - But some one thousand years ago that changed, the world was turned into a desolate wasteland near instantaneously. Since then, its wounds have healed, if only to leave scars; anyone who lived to tell the tale would tell you it is still unrecognisable. Those who survived either left for another world, be it Halija or elsewhere, or stayed just to die, just to prove a point; a point that still holds great meaning.

All of these things are just distant memories, people may forget, people may remember, people may be told the truth, people may be told a lie. But the world itself will remember, it always remembers - Those who are responsible, will never truly be forgotten, no matter how they choose to move on, how they choose to bury the memory.

The world will always know, and deep inside, the people of the world will too.
