State of Decay Special: (September 4th 2026): Toparo Project second anniversary!
It’s that time of year once again, unlike last time there’s not that much exciting happening… Other than the fact the Toparo Project is seeing its first release of *actual* substance! Hmm… two years… it doesn’t really feel like it’s been that long since this website went up and dragged that first story with it, does it? Well, good news for people who think that shouldn’t count as *today* certainly counts! So if you’re in that camp, just remove two years to however old I say Toparo is; then you have a perfect conversion for what *you* consider to be the actual age~
Anyway, the progress this last year hasn't been too shabby all things considered, although picking up the pace is still very much a priority, a decent amount of things have been done since last anniversary. Most important to me however is that I’ve finally actually released something of substance; I formed TALENA in March of 2022, so it’s about damn time I release something!
So here it is:
Announcement #1 - Toparo ~ reDream released

(Sick of seeing this image everywhere yet?)
There’s not much more I can say about reDream, especially considering it has its own part of the website - Look there - See it all - It’s on YouTube and on Itch if you’re willing to splash some cash for all of the bonus goodies.
I suppose I’ll talk about that pricetag briefly. I’m not sure if I ever said in the past how much I was going to sell it for, but if I did, I would have said a price far lower than $7, the reason? I simply looked into how both Itch and Paypal do all of their do; basically, at a very low price it would have been more effort than it was literally worth once all the fees and such are done.
I still think the current price is rather low though, if you’re wondering how I came to it, I just got as close as I could to £5 as I could in a non silly looking number of dollars… That’s all - $7 is only 13p higher than £5 though, which isn’t even enough to cover the conversion of dollars to pounds lol~ It’s not about the money anyway, so I don’t really mind at the end of the day~
Enough about the thing that’s been known about for months - here’s the new hot scoop on the scene:
Announcement #2 - New Game: Toparo ~ Memory of Wistful Spire
EHHHHHH???
Ok, this *might* be confusing if you’ve been keeping up with things (which no one has, but I’ll explain it here just to make everything clear). I announced MoWS last year as the album, the album changed into reDream, this change was *because* I decided to make MoWS a game instead right near the beginning of this year~ So, what does this mean for Toparo ~ the Forgotten Rotting Technology? Nothing actually! tFRT is still in development alongside MoWS, it’s just the latter will release first (a fact which will make sense once I begin to describe it).
So, what is Memory of Wistful Spire going to be? Basically, think of it as a ‘X.5’ game like Touhou has (it’s much *much* smaller and easier to make than tFRT, so much so that I can make them simultaneously without much change on the tFRT side of things). Due to how much smaller it is, it’ll come out first and is therefore the main current priority, so what’s in it?
Simple, just two ‘Extra Stage’ style stages alongside a small VS mode, that’s all~ I was always planning that there’d be smaller games in between the big ones, but I came to the realisation that it’d make sense to finish and release a smaller one first, see how that goes, and then use that knowledge on the first big game.
If you’re concerned about having to wait longer before the first game releases, then you’re good as MoWS will release even sooner than a demo (that’s more than just the first stage) for tFRT would’ve!
To me, the logic on how making a smaller game first is a good idea makes sense at least…
No screenshots or anything like that yet despite the fact that the game’s in a showoffable state right now; it’s just *not quite* to the standard I want it to be before properly showing it off - Especially considering that there *might* be some eyes on Toparo now that I’ve released something, although I really doubt it (^^;
That’s it then! Time for me to get back to it… Just like last year, thanks to everyone who’s ever even just acknowledged the Toparo Project, every little thing *really does* help with the motivation to continue at a pace above glacial! Who knows, maybe I’ll have ‘fans’ by this time next year~
Doubt it though!
Have a great day and see you *some* day!
